Singer KK passed away in Kolkata following his live concert at Nazrul Mancha In Kolkata
Singer KK’s untimely demise was a major blow to the entire nation. Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, told his wife of a pain in his shoulders and arms only hours before he passed away on Tuesday night, reported India Today.
The report also mentioned that KK had told his manager on the morning of May 31 that he was low on energy.
For the unversed, KK passed away in Kolkata following his live concert at Nazrul Mancha. The playback singer collapsed after the performance and was rushed to a private hospital in the city. He was ‘brought dead’ to Kolkata's CMRI Hospital around 10 pm, hospital authorities said as quoted by IndiaToday.
The latest findings in the interim autopsy report have established cardiac arrest as the reason behind singer KK's death. A PTI report quoted a doctor who conducted the autopsy and declared that the singer had several heart blockages and could have been saved if CPR was administered on time.
The autopsy report found excessive fluid in the lungs and haemorrhage in the brain. The doctor has revealed that KK has 80% blockage in the left main coronary artery and small blockages in various other arteries and sub-arteries and he must be experiencing some pain which he mistook as s symptom of a digestive problem. The autopsy has also revealed that KK used to take a lot of antacids.
During the investigation, KK’s hotel room had a number of medicines including antacids, vitamin C, and homoeopathic pills. He regularly consumed Digene and antacids.
The autopsy revealed a fatty layer around the heart that had turned white, police sources said. The valves were stiff. This develops over a period of time, doctors said.
On the professional front, KK got his break with AR Rahman's hit songs 'Kalluri Saaley' and 'Hello Doctor'. In Bollywood, he started by singing a small portion of 'Chhod Aaye Hum' from Gulzar's Maachis. His first full-fledged Bollywood song was, however, the very popular 'Tadap Tadap ke' from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam in 1999.
